Wood, masonry, and soil-adjacent materials can release stored moisture after the liner is installed. Track the trend rather than expecting an instant result.

A falling weekly average is different from a flat or rising trend after rain.

Inspect the continuity

Look for loose seams, unsealed pier wraps, gaps at wall terminations, open vents, wet insulation, plumbing leakage, and water on top of the liner.

Water above the liner indicates a leak or entry path that encapsulation alone cannot solve.

Verify conditioning and controls

Confirm that supply air, transfer air, or dehumidification matches the design and local code. A dehumidifier must have appropriate capacity, airflow, drainage, and a representative control sensor.

Ask for pre- and post-work measurements, not only a visual completion statement.
